Life happens. Work runs late. Kids get ill. Trains get cancelled. Missing the occasional class doesn’t mean you can’t take part — and it won’t derail your course.
We know most of our students have busy lives. That’s why our courses are built to be flexible, supportive, and manageable — even if you need to miss a week or two.
How many sessions can I miss?
- Acting courses: Up to 2–3 sessions is usually fine
- Writing courses: Up to 2 sessions is manageable — especially as you’re working on your own material
The more consistent your attendance, the more confident you’ll feel — but missing a session won’t ruin your experience. We’ll help you stay on track.
What should I do if I know I’ll miss a class?
- Let your tutor know in advance if you can
- Or just drop us a message — we’ll pass it on
- If there are notes or handouts, we’ll send them to you
If the same course is running on another day, you may be able to attend that session instead — especially in the early weeks of an acting course.
What about the final performance?
Every course ends with a sharing or performance. If you can’t make the final session, let us know as soon as you can. For acting courses especially, the final performance brings the whole term together — so early notice helps us plan accordingly.
Will I hold the group back if I miss a class?
No. Everyone misses a week now and then. Our tutors are used to managing this and will help you catch up. The focus is on learning — not perfection.
Are some courses more flexible than others?
- Writing courses are usually the most flexible — you can catch up individually
- Acting for Beginners is also a bit more flexible — with lots of rolling group work
- Theatre Training Company and performance-heavy courses need a bit more consistency — particularly in the final few weeks
In summary: We know that sometimes life can get in the way. Just turn up when you can, let us know when you can’t — and we’ll help you stay connected.
Still unsure?
If you’ve already got a holiday or work clash, drop us a line. We’ll tell you if the course will still work for you.
